Literature Text
In helplessness, watching
In sadness, waiting
While others stood by
Unable to lend their hands
To a cause they could surely prevent
Lying in wait
In the cold dark hour
As the night surely passed by
But the daylight never came
And he never awoke
The stone was not moved
The boy was not saved
From the depths he cried
But his cry was not heard
And his heart broke
The father on the other side
Holding arms open wide
Welcomed his lost son home
The one he had waited so long for
But a million hearts on Earth wept
And still they cry out in pain
The cause they could have prevented
That they died for
That they cried for
And still they cry
In sadness, waiting
While others stood by
Unable to lend their hands
To a cause they could surely prevent
Lying in wait
In the cold dark hour
As the night surely passed by
But the daylight never came
And he never awoke
The stone was not moved
The boy was not saved
From the depths he cried
But his cry was not heard
And his heart broke
The father on the other side
Holding arms open wide
Welcomed his lost son home
The one he had waited so long for
But a million hearts on Earth wept
And still they cry out in pain
The cause they could have prevented
That they died for
That they cried for
And still they cry

I don't remember when I wrote this, but it was around 2000 or so. I'll let you decide what it's about.
I'm noticing a trend in my poems... there's a lot of sorrow and death.
I guess that's why I've not written in a while, I've gotten a bit better.
